Belt and Braces

Well ok, not so much the braces...but I have to say I'm loving some of the belted style wedding dresses around at the moment. If you're looking for a more on-trend look but don't want something completely out there, then belts and sashes can bring a modern twist to a traditional dress. Check out some of my favourite below...

Matching the belt colour to your overall colour scheme is one option but I love the contrast of black on white on this Modern Trousseau dress (left below). The simple and delicate beading on this Rosa Clara dress (right below) adds a touch of sparkle to the classic A-line gown.

For a glamorous 50's inspired look try this Stephanie Allin wide-belted dress (left below) which believe it or not has pockets! Now thats a novel idea! The black lace band on this Littlewoods dress (right below) gives it a subtle vintage feel.

Belts can work just as well with shorter styles, like on these Charlotte Balbier and Jasmine Bridal dresses:

The pretty pink bow belt highlights the empire line of this stunning Justin Alexander dress (below left) while the Enzoani dress (below right) comes with a choice of either a ribbon or beaded sash.

If you've already bought your dress and are looking to bling it up a little then  try Etsy. I found these beautiful floral belts and embellished sashes which could add a bespoke twist to your gown.
